This is about the time of year that my New Year’s resolutions start to fade.

This is partially why I don’t believe in making any… However, I make them anyway and start off strong and lose steam within a MONTHS time or less.

To end the trend, I’ve set up reminders and I’ve joined several support and accountability groups.

Staying connected to things and people that support your goals is key.

Did you set any resolutions? If so, have you dropped out or are you still attending class?

Let me know. Chime in!

The Five p’s

You’ve heard it before. Or maybe not.

Proper planning prevents poor performance.

This is sound advice if you don’t get stuck in the planning phase.

Do you tend to go over every detail or feel as if you can’t make a decision until every I is dotted and every T is crossed?

If so, you may be doing yourself more harm than good.

If we strike when all is ” perfect” we will never hit our mark.

This doesn’t mean we should throw caution to the wind. It means that we have to execute an idea, move, task, and so on..

We can’t allow ourselves to get lost in the details.

Make your plan and then work your plan!

I’m in the process of moving which means the dreaded packing is upon me. Ugh!

It is very easy to feel overwhelmed.

Even more so when you’re severely disorganized and in pain most of the time.

Then there are three children running all around… Lol.

I decided to break everything down into categories and concentrate on one project until completion.

It really helped a lot.

I feel like this with a lot of things in my life.

I start to think of what I want and become frustrated with it and ultimately get stuck as the years pile up.

I’m not doing this any longer.

I’m going to break what I want down and put all I have into that one thing until COMPLETION. RINSE AND REPEAT.

This is another advantage of working from home.

I get to pack towels between my breaks.😍

Which reminds me, this break is over.

See you soon! πŸ’œπŸŒΈ

When It doesn’t work

It is so very cold.

Like the fourth of January, School was canceled for my three children today.

Yesterday school was out for Dr Martin Luther Kings day.

Today is a day off for me so I escaped the balancing act of having children at home while trying to work.

There are many advantages to working from home. This is not one of them…

Some are fortunate enough to have separate work quarters, or help with their children or pets when they need to be logged in. For me it’s a serious juggling act.

There can be no background distractions or noise. It’s an automatic cause for being fired. The mute button comes in handy on a a regular basis.

My original schedule allowed me to work when they are in school or usually asleep.

My new schedule will be during the hours when they are at home.

I’ll have to figure out how to make this work.

I’m also working on another business where this will not be an issue for me.

Until then…

Today is my sister’s Birthday! And, as I honor her on this day. I can’t help but to think that every day is a birthday of sorts for us all.

If you’re alive, you have a 100 percent chance of LIVING. Every day we can be born again, try again, love again…

We don’t have to wait annually to honor the life we’ve been given. We should live each day as such.

Happy Birthday, Bun!! Live and Love it up!πŸ’œπŸŒΈ

Start. Stop. Is not the way to get anything done, especially if no movement occurs after too many stops.

I’m vowing to start and only “pause” when NEEDED but the consistency will be in tact.

What things have you started and stopped that you want to change?

I’m able to work from home.

I don’t have to go out in very cold weather if I don’t want to.

I’m here before and after my children go and come back from school.

There is always something to be thankful for even when things are not going the way you want.

Just look a little deeper.

What are you grateful for?
